“The Last Sip of Hope” ist wahrscheinlich einer der ehrlichsten Songs, die ich je geschrieben habe in meinem Leben. Er handelt von meinem überstandenen Alkoholismus ( 2 Jahre clean). Ich kann mich nicht erinnern, wann ich begann die Lyrics zu diesem Song zu schreiben. In jenen Tagen war ich komplett verloren in meiner Hölle, der Hölle des Alkoholismus. Der Song wurde bruchstückhaft geschrieben, die Absätze kamen von kleinen Ideen, die ich als Notizen sammelte während der Entwicklung meines Alkoholismus.
Bezüglich des Songs war meine Hauptidee einen Song mit einer bittersüßen Melodie zu komponieren, die die Ernsthaftigkeit dieser Sucht darstellt und dem Hörer gleichzeitig Hoffnung bietet.
Ich denke die Identifikation und die Empathie sind die wesentlichen Ziele von Nox Interna. Manche Menschen müssen einfach wissen wie kaputt sie sind ( wie ich in jenen Tagen) bevor sie ihre Leben wieder aufbauen können. Ich predige nichts in “The Last Sip of Hope”, ich zeige einfach nur meine eigene Erfahrung, denn das Hauptproblem aller Süchte ist, das niemand realisiert, das er die Kontrolle verliert bis die Kontrolle verloren ist.
Bemerkenswert ist der Einsatz der einsamen Gitarre von Peter Geltat nach dem zweiten Chorus. Ich denke dieses Detail macht den Song sogar noch intensiver als zuvor.

“The Last sip of Hope” is probably one of the most honest songs I ever wrote in my
life. It speaks about my already overcome alcoholism (2 years clean).
I don’t remember the day I started to write the lyrics of this song, during those days I
was completely lost in my own hell, the hell of the alcoholism.
This song was written in a fragmented way, the paragraphs came from the little ideas I
was collecting in some notes during the development of my alcoholism.
Concerning the music my main idea was to create a song with a bittersweet melody
which shows the seriousness of this addiction and at the same time I offered a hope to the
listener.
I think the Identification and the empathy are the basic objectives of Nox Interna. Some
people just need to know how fuck they are (like me in those days) before they rebuild
their lives again. I’m not teaching anything in the “The last Sip of Hope”, I just show
my own experience; because the main problem of all addiction is that no one realized
when control is lost until control is lost.
The lonely guitar that Peter Geltat made after the second chorus is very remarkable. I
think this detail made the song even more Intense than before.
