Amaurosis:
Als Opener unseres neuen Albums „Annihilate The I“ stellt „Amaurosis“ direkt alles dar, was das neue Album ausmacht: Hohe Dynamik, einen Fokus auf komplexe Rhythmik, die das Strophen-Riff formt und ein sehr melodiöser Refrain. „Amaurosis“ beginnt direkt mit einem Drum-Fill und startet danach gleich durch mit voller Besetzung und Gesang – direkt auf die 12. Der Song beschreibt den Umgang unserer Protagonistin mit einer absoluten Blindheit, die sie weder Formen noch Farben erkennen lässt. Stattdessen sieht sie nur Schemen vor ihrem inneren Auge, die ihre Sicht nicht nur im physischen Sinne, sondern auch auf sie selbst und ihr inneres trüben. „Amaurosis“ beschreibt den Beginn ihres Leidenswegs, der sich durch das ganze Album hindurchzieht und als selbstgewählten Weg zur eigenen Selbsterfüllung herausstellt. „Amaurosis“ ist somit nicht nur der erste Song auf dem Album, sondern auch der perfekte Einstieg in die Geschichte die auf „Annihilate The I“ erzählt wird.
